While listening to a podcast the other day, they started talking about “if”firmations, ever heard of it? I hadn’t either! “If”firmations could change the way I build confidence.
I love the idea of affirmations, but I rarely put them to use. Especially on a daily basis. After hearing about “if”firmations, I think the habit of using positive affirmations is a little more comfortable to me.
I know, it’s weird. You’re by yourself in the bathroom, looking in the mirror telling yourself “I am enough”…”I am powerful”, but what if we changed that?
The podcast I was listening to when I discovered “if”firmations said that it reaches our brains in a different way than affirmations. You’re not putting the pressure on yourself, or at least that’s how it is supposed to feel. So if affirmations have always felt awkward for you, but you’d love to incorporate them into your life, this might be your affirmation hack.

Think about it…. instead of saying, “I am a great mother”, which my mind would automatically reject; saying “What if I am a great mother?” makes me think for a moment…”I am a pretty great mother” I say to myself after using this “if”firmation.
I want to start using this method to strengthen my confidence, not only in myself but in myself as a mother.
Here are some “if”firmations I plan to be using:
“What if I’m a great mother?
“What if my son feels safe with me?”
“What if everything goes right today?”
“What if I’m teaching my son the right skills for life?”
“What if I am working hard to support my family?”
“What if I am the best mom for my son?”
“What if I am a positive role model for my son?
“What if perfection is impossible?”
“What if I am a better mom everyday?”
Do any of these “if”firmations resonate with you in your current journey through motherhood?
